1. What the pilot is
Glassability (the provider) makes its accessibility scanning and repair service available to the college and to the instructors it names, for the courses they choose, for one academic term, at no charge. Either side may end the pilot at any time by written notice, including email.
2. What Glass does, and does not do
- Scans and drafts. Glass reads the content of a connected course, finds what accessibility checkers find, and prepares repairs and drafts.
- Changes nothing without a press. No content in a course is altered until the instructor presses a button on their report. Every change is logged with a copy of the content before and after it.
- Uses AI on course content only. Glass drafts repairs with language and vision models. Those models are shown course content only, never student submissions, grades or the people in a course, which Glass does not hold. No content is used to train any model or sent to a third-party model service.
- Measures; does not certify. Glass reports measured changes to course content in the terms of the scanners the college already uses. It does not certify conformance with any accessibility standard or law, and nothing it produces is legal advice.
3. Access
Instructors add Glassability to their own courses as a Canvas app and grant it permission to act as them, either through a developer key the college registers or through a personal access token. That permission can be withdrawn by the instructor at any time in Canvas, and the college may revoke the developer key at any time. Glass stops acting the moment either happens.
4. Data
Glass keeps the course content it scans, the receipts of what it changed, the rulings instructors make, and an encrypted token that acts as the instructor. It does not read student submissions, grades, or the list of people in a course. Data is held on servers the provider operates in the United States and is deleted within thirty days of the pilot's end, or sooner on request. Course content may be shown to language models the provider operates, to draft repairs; student data never is. 5. Ownership
The college and its instructors keep every right in their course content, repaired or not. The provider keeps every right in the Glassability software and its methods. Each course's receipts belong to the college and may be kept and shared by it freely.
6. Warranty and liability
The pilot is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. Because nothing is changed without the instructor's press and every change is logged with a before copy, the remedy for any unwanted change is its reversal, which the provider will carry out on request. Neither side is liable to the other for indirect or consequential loss arising from the pilot.
7. After the pilot
At the end of the term the college may continue on terms to be agreed, or stop. Stopping obliges nobody to anything: the content stays as the instructors left it, the receipts stay with the college, and the provider's copies are deleted.
